Highly skilled, experienced project managers hired for new projects in Lake Forest and Chicago.

Northfield, IL-- This summer, Focus Construction, Inc. welcomed two new members to their growing team. Jeremiah Miller, Senior Project Manager, and Quintin Huckabee, Assistant Project Manager, were hired to support the rapid growth of new development projects in Lake Forest and Chicago. Both Miller and Huckabee have proven track records in construction management, with experience in single-family and multi-unit housing developments. “We are incredibly excited for Jeremiah and Quintin to join the Focus family. They are a great addition to an already exceptional team,” said Focus CEO Tim Anderson. “They bring to the table a depth of expertise and knowledge that is so valued here at Focus and I am confident in their ability to deliver the high level of craftsmanship and customer service that we are known for.”

Focus Construction is a subsidiary of Focus, Inc., a premier developer, general contractor, and consultant. Focus Construction has acted as the general contractor for all Focus development projects to date and offers third-party general contracting services. In total, Focus has constructed real estate valued at over $1.1 billion. Miller will oversee Kelmscott Park, an 11-acre residential site featuring single family homes, apartments, and condominiums on the corner of Laurel Avenue and Western Avenue in Lake Forest. Huckabee will provide support to the Medical District Apartments (MDA), a 410-unit rehabilitation project at 901 South Ashland Avenue in Chicago.

Jeremiah Miller’s experience in project management, construction, and estimating spans over 16 years. After starting his career with DR Horton, the largest homebuilder in Illinois, he spent seven years with Walsh Construction, one the largest contractors in the United States. His projects have included a $50MM mixed-use residential building in Chicago’s River West, a $250MM luxury condominium building in Chicago’s Lincoln Park, and a $157MM development of single-family homes in Pingree Grove, Illinois. He was drawn to Focus for their collaborative nature and commitment to quality. “Focus is uniquely positioned to approve projects with both the perspective of a builder, equally yoked with that of an owner,” said Miller. “Not only does Focus foresee problems through their knowledge of construction, they know how to value engineer projects in ways that save ownership money while at the same time maintain the look and quality of the original scope. They define a level of collaboration I have not seen repeated and I am excited to see what the future brings.”

“I love the comradery here at Focus. Everyone here works with one another in an effort to obtain a common goal regardless of titles,” said Quintin Huckabee, who joins the Focus team after extensive work in the city of Chicago. In his last position as CHA Project Manager with DSR Group, Inc., Huckabee managed multiple government housing renovations and rehabs. It’s this experience which made MDA an excellent fit for his first Focus project. Huckabee has also worked with Burling Builders on other notable city projects including the $17M Morgan Park Sports Center which holds an indoor ice rink and gymnastics studio. “Due to the nature of this high profile job, I was able to meet and create relationships with many political leaders in the Morgan Park area, as well as throughout the city.” He also worked on the Edgewater Branch of the Chicago Public Library, a $14M, LEED Gold Certification building on Chicago’s north side.
