New Faces at Focus

Northfield, IL – Spring has sprung and Focus is eager to announce 5 unique additions to our corporate family. Eric Johnson (Project Manager II), David Beane (Senior Superintendent), Corey Miskell (Project Accountant), Gosia Bajor (Accounts Payable Specialist) and Margaret Hasemann (Marketing Coordinator) have made the beginning of 2017 a very exciting time at Focus. Hired to support the increasingly varied needs of a growing company, the new additions will help to scale the company’s capacity to whole new levels.

The addition of Eric, David, Corey Gosia and Margaret elevates an already irreproachable group and kicks off what is sure to be an extraordinary year for Focus” said CEO Tim Anderson. “The skill-set of this group will enable us to realize significant growth goals for 2017 and enable Focus to deliver quality construction and an exceptional client experience”.

Eric Johnson comes to Focus with 7 years of industry experience working with some of the best in the business. Beginning his career with Power Construction he worked on projects like the Roosevelt University Student Center, a $123 million project in downtown Chicago. Johnson also spent time collaborating at Opus Development where he was involved with several projects like the 13 story luxury apartments, ArborBlu in Ann Arbor, Michigan. It is Johnson’s experience level as well as his entrepreneurial spirit which makes him a perfect fit for Focus. He brings unique experience in Asset Management to the Focus team having placed and structured $4 million in capital during his time as CEO and founder of The Johnson Organization. “The leadership team, firm growth, and portfolio all impacted my choice to join the team. Focus has developed an outstanding brand and reputation within the industry and it was something I wanted to be a part of” said Johnson.

David Beane joins Focus after an extensive career in the construction industry. His over 17 years of experience has resulted in an impressive list of projects; including a $20 million remodel for Neiman Marcus in downtown Chicago, the Library Tower new construction was a $57 million project in Chicago and the $180 million Rain Tree Village project in Yorkville, IL. “I was looking for a company with integrity, character and a bright future that also offered a mix of high quality products. Luckily Focus offered all of these opportunities,” said Beane. A commitment to quality, collaborative leadership, and dedication to safety make Beane a natural fit for Focus’ team of client motivated, development and construction professionals.

Also joining the team in March, Corey Miskell brings 14 years of professional experience to Focus. After over 10 years managing various facets of project based accounting for the Moran Group, Miskell has a deep understanding of effective processes and keen attention to the details. “I joined Focus because it presents me with an opportunity to learn and grow. The atmosphere and friendliness I felt throughout the process left me wanting to become part of the team,” says Miskell. “Since my first day at Focus I have learned a great deal and stepping outside of my comfort zone is an exciting challenge”. Miskell joins the team as the newest Focus Project Accountant.

Margaret Hasemann is the newest face in Marketing at Focus. Hasemann brings 3 years of experience from Meltwater where she managed projects for Communications and Marketing professionals regionally with an array of different goals. Dedicated to brand development and polished project design, Hasemann will be coordinating corporate as well as portfolio based marketing projects for Focus. “The team at Focus is really special. Promoting collaboration across departments and at all levels, Focus is a group committed to quality and beyond reproach. I’m excited to join the team”.

Last but not least, Gosia Bajor becomes an official member of the Focus family. After coming on board to assist in the Accounting department, Gosia’s hard work and dedication to a very busy department made it clear that she would be a great fit long term. She will now be stepping in as an Accounts Payable Specialist and when asked what the Focus means to her Gosia said, “Everyone here is so great, I am excited that to become a permanent part of the team.”
